Overview

The link function in the editor is a flexible tool for providing links to other content in Commons or on the internet.  Web pages, links to internal targets within content, FTP links and mailto links can be created with the tool.

Editor Links Feature image

URL

The URL will contain the full path to the internet resource you're linking.  You can paste it in from your clipboard.  A good practice is to configure the link into a draft document, and then try to use the link after saving to be sure it reaches the correct resource and behaves the way you expect.

Link Type, Protocol and Target

Click in these fields to view the options you can use to describe how a browser treats your link.

Advanced Functions

Shortcut keys, tab navigation preferences and additional theming and styles may be applied to links on the advanced tab, but they are not recommended for day-to-day use.

Unlink

Use the 'unlink' button to remove the hyperlink from the text.
