When used on a mobile device, Commons will respond with a mobile format to help you focus on content and still provide convenient access to site navigation and page-based controls.  The site header is replaced with a couple of simple icons that control sliding menus.  The menus can also be swiped in from either the left or right edge of the device screen.

Use the left header icon (aka. hamburger) to pull in a site navigation menu to access the main menu and your groups. Use the right context icon (aka. stacked dots) to pull in a menu of actions relevant to the context of the current page (like view/edit tabs or the group navigation block).

Navigation Menu

When you tap on the navigation menu "hamburger" icon, a menu will slide out and occupy the left side of your screen. Here you will find the site navigation tools that appear as buttons or icon-links in the header when using the site from a desktop browser. You will also be presented with a list of links to the groups that you belong to.

Context Menu

When you tap on the context menu "stacked dots" icon, a menu will slide out and occupy the right side of your screen. Here you will find icon links to the main menu pages (across the top) and the tools that appear as tabs preceding the content when using the site from a desktop browser. In addition you might find other navigation options here (such as group pages or the book table of contents). The selections will vary considerably depending on what kind of page you are currently on, and your permissions on that page.

Searching

When you tap on the familiar "magnifier glass" icon, the small form used to search the site (or group) appears.  It is the same form that appears in the upper right when using a desktop browser, it's just a little more compact.
