Post Content

You can create a post when you want to share simple content as a web page with others. Commons users who can view your posts (according to the choices you and your group organizers make), will be able to read, respond and link to your post.

Details

A post is comprised of a core set of fields. Fields whose label is followed by an asterisk (*) are required for the entry.

Fill in the Title and the Body, and also the select a Group and a Visibility. It is recommended to leave Group and Visibility at their default values. The body of the post is composed using the text editor.  You can also embed screenshots to illustrate your answer using the text editor.

Groups

You can cross-post your content to multiple groups by selecting more than one entry from the groups list. Keep in mind that the audience of your post will be the broadest combination of viewers from all of the selected groups.

Visibility

You can explicitly override the group organizer's default and designate whether you want your content to be viewable only by group members or by all Commons users (community). It is generally recommended that you use the group default value set by your group's organizer, or at least notify them to avoid uncomfortable surprises.

Sharing Authorship

You can allow other group members to edit your content by checking the 'Allow group edit' checkbox. If you check this, then all members of any associated group will be able to edit the content.

Allowing comments

By default, people can post comments on your content. You can disallow further comments by unchecking the "Allow comments" checkbox.

Be sure to remember to click the SAVE (or UPDATE) button, as your edits will not be saved if you navigate away from the form without doing so.
