Adding New Members

Group organizers may add Commons members directly to the group by way of the Add Member feature. People without existing accounts can be invited by email to join Commons as well. Buttons to access both features can be found on the Membership page underneath the group navigation links. Hover your mouse over the buttons if you have any confusion about what they mean.

The group organizer can also access these functions via the Administer Group tab on the group's home page. Add user and invite buttons are only visible to group organizers and members they designate to manage the group's membership.

Directly Adding Commons Members

You can directly add Commons users to your group from the 'Add Member' page. Begin typing the person's name in the provided field and Commons will attempt to auto-complete to find the person you're looking for. You can assign an additional administrator role or other available roles to the new member from this screen by checking a box below the name field.
